to have a radiator cooling fan replaced, After calling thru an telephone book add, And telling them what I needed, they assured me it would cost 0.00 for the used part and installation would only take a few minutes to install the used part.
These guys went well out of their way to make me feel "right at home".
I will be sure to return here with any future needs. Shop Rating: Excellent Recommended Report Date: Pete, Reviria writes: Good shop, high attention to detail, takes a while to have a car built, but well worth the wait.
I have always gotton good honest service on my cars.
It is a little far to drive but it is worth the trip to find real VW people.
I never did get a reply and after a couple of phone calls to them I gave up.
He refused to take anything but cash in exchange for returning my vehicle.
I tried to tell them that I could not afford that and they went on to say I would still owe the labor cost of 0.00 if they removed the part. Also I asked about buying a used steel wheel (no tire or hubcap) and the owner Keith Mitchell was playing me to get the most money he could out of me by saying "well what would you pay for it" and if I was to low in price, he would say "oh, it's worth more than that and stating what someone else paid for an item last week, which was an ridiculous amount of 0.00 and in return asking then what I would pay for the part, but he would not tell me a fair price, I really wanted to get a used replacement part so after agreeing with him on an outrageous price for the item he had his helper go and take the wheel off a wrecked car, they brought the wheel up and took it to my car to put in the trunk, as the helper was passing me by I noticed the wheel was damaged and was not the wheel that we had just looked at, I mentioned it to Keith and he insisted it was ok, To me the wheel looked just as bad as the wheel that was already on my car!
And for the price I agreed to pay for a good used wheel, I can't believe he was trying to rip me off again, I guess he thought that I wouldn't notice that he was selling me a bent wheel. Afterwards on my way home I stopped by the auto parts store in Tuscaloosa, and the manager knew of this guy and said that this guy is known to rip people off and has been sued multiple times. if you want to go to a shop where you cant understand your mechanic this is the one. Though he does have the largest VW junkyard in the state, all of the old stuff has been long picked over, He seems nice and has a large selection of buggy items new and used, and also rebuilds wrecked VW's and sells them. I went to him because I thought he could give me a reasonable priced paint job, but forget it.
